Turunç Diary - December 2010

December has been very quiet in Turunç with not much happening at all.

The weather has ranged from thunderstorms and hailstones to fantastically sunny and warm, possibly around 20 or 21°C on some days.  Christmas Day was overcast but New Year's Day has been glorious.

Pasha had a Christmas party on the 18th and we said goodbye to those going back to the UK for Christmas all the while keeping their fingers crossed that the planes would go on time with all the snow back in the UK.  Some were lucky and some were not.  We then said hello to those we only see in the summer who are spending their first Christmas and New Year over here.  I hope they have been pleasantly surprised.

Pasha's Restaurant also held the traditional Christmas dinner which was superbly cooked and presented by several of the English ladies that live here permanently.  Even Santa popped in with a few presents.

New Year is a time of celebration for expatriates and locals and New Year's eve parties were held in Pasha and Korfez restaurants.  Both venues were packed and everybody had a good time.

It was then off to the Habit Bar for a nightcap by most of the revelers who just don't know when to call it time (no names from me!).
