Turunç Diary - February 2016

Merhaba

What a lot of building works in the village this month.

A new build has gone up opposite the Village Bar next to the raspberry coloured building and three new blocks have been built behind the former co-operative houses near Sirma Market/Green Garden. I can't believe how close together they are!

The rumoured Bim Supermarket building, behind the Rose Apartments, is now apparently going to be to be an A101 supermarket. Watch this space for the sign to go up. The building opposite Gökmen Apartments is nearing completion. This will be the new BBQ restaurant that was next to the garage and a rumoured Hamam next door. Körfez Restaurant is undergoing major works with a new frontage with retractable roof and the bar has been moved. The new road outside the new Turunç Premier hotel is almost completed.

Further afield the popular Yoda restaurant has closed in Marmaris and will be a Pide restaurant. The covered part of the bazaar leading to the old mosque has had its roof removed and is being paved all the way.

Weather-wise we had a very cold week in January but other than that the weather has been kind. People have been out in Marmaris enjoying breakfast with their families, flowers are in bloom and even a tortoise is out from hibernation.

Something to keep an eye on. The HSBC machine has been removed and it is rumoured they are not replacing it. Watch this space for further updates.
