Details

Antik is a friendly and welcoming, family-run restaurant offering excellent food in a relaxing environment. The restaurant has been in the Gökçe family for over 30 years and is now run by daughter Müjde, assisted by brother Mehmet. Mum Bircan is in charge of the kitchen assisted this year by another Mehmet who relocated to Turunç from Gaziantep following the disasterous earthquakes earlier in 2023.

Antik restaurant offers guests a traditional Turkish breakfast and a choice of lighter meals, snacks, salads and and sandwiches at lunchtime.

The evening menu is extensive and features traditional Turkish recipes and dishes such as lamb shank, kebabs, Ottoman-style sautés and meat or seafood casseroles. New Turkish dishes for this season include a wide range of kebabs, liver, plus an expanded range of typical Turkish mezes. Meals of a more 'international' style, such as steaks, grills and sea food, are also offered. A children's menu is also offered for younger guests.

If you still have room then there is a tempting dessert menu including Turkish rice pudding, baklava and pancakes.

As you'd expect, there is a good range of wine, beer and other alcoholic and soft drinks available.

If you'd like to share then why not try one of Antik's special meals for two (or more):

  • Whole roast chicken - stuffed with spicy rice served with a selection of vegetables
  • Lamb stew - slow cooked in a clay pot - served with green beans, carrots and onions
  • Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder with roasted vegetables on the side

These special meals need to be pre-ordered with at least 6 hours notice.

Antik's Turkish Evening (every Saturday) is justifiably famous. The only experience of its type in Turunç this is, for many visitors a "must-do" evening.  Starting at 7.30PM you'll enjoy a selection of delicious Turkish mezes.  This is followed by a breath-taking floor show featuring traditional Turkish music and male and female dancers and in beautiful costumes.  Make sure you take lots of photographs! The main course of your dinner is then served - Turkish kebabs and meatballs.  A dessert rounds off your meal - and that's always a surprise - whatever the chef has planned for the day!  But, your evening is not over yet!  On comes the Turkish music and it's your chance to show your steps - everyone joins in ... guests and staff alike!  Antik's Turkish Evening is very popular - so reservations are strongly recommended. Great value at just £30 per person.

Antik Restaurant is located on the road out of Turunç towards Amos. The restaurant is pleased to offer guests a complimentary "pick up" service from your hotel/apartment.
